The Diary of a Submissive by Sophie Morgan

‘Sophie Morgan is a young, independent woman working as a journalist. She’s intelligent, articulate, witty and fun. The girl next door. Except that in bed she surrenders her freedom to a dominant man for their mutual pleasure.’

I had been eying up The Diary of a Submissive for quite some time before I actually took the plunge and decided to buy it. I was so fed up with cheesy tales of horny domineering millionaires (that I have never managed to finish) and I was on the market for a decent book that I could really get my teeth into.

Sophie Morgan had me hooked from the very first page! The book is a memoir discussing how a young girl from a happy stable upbringing travels into adulthood and makes the life changing decision to hand over her free will and submit to another man for sexual pleasure.  There are three main men in the story and even a surprise appearance from a ‘trainee female dominant’ who I do hope one day Sophie gets her revenge on but I won’t spoil the reason why. When Sophie meets James it seems that she has found an ideal partner who shares her enthusiasm for BDSM and love begins to blossom. But can their relationship thrive under such an intense lifestyle and will Sophie have to choose between the man that she loves or the lifestyle that she craves? You’ll have to read it and find out. I’m not spoiling it!

It is because of Sophie’s stable upbringing that made the story more interesting for me. There are no dark secrets and no drugs or excessive alcohol involved. Sophie is a happy,  intelligent young woman and the decisions that she has made are all hers, and she is happy with her choices. She repeatedly assures the reader that despite an uncomfortable situation she always had the opportunity to leave and has chosen not to. As a matter of fact, quite often her body betrays the signals of her enjoyment of the punishment and humiliation that she is subjected to. It’s a controversial read so perhaps not for the faint hearted, but it is a tale that will open your eyes to the world that is BDSM in all its glory.

The story is also told with wit and humour and Sophie is incredibly likable. Her story is very well written and is a no holds barred account of her life as a submissive. It is a really good book and an unputdownable read. There are parts that are very uncomfortable to digest and I actually found myself gasping out loud in horror and other parts that made me laugh out loud. The mix is perfect and the plot is exciting as you never know what Sophie is going to do next. If you haven’t read this book then I strongly suggest that you beg, borrow or steal it from somebody. You won’t regret it!
You can find The Diary Of a Submissive By Sophie Morgan on Amazon and Kindle.

The Syllabus of Errors by Ashley Stokes

The Syllabus of Errors is a collection of very intelligently written short stories. The details in the stories were so intricate and thought provoking that I often found myself revisiting past pages just to re digest interesting parts of the story.

This collection dramatically flings an optimist like myself straight back down to earth and lives up to the title of a ‘The Syllabus of Errors’. Without ruining any parts of the stories, I found it to be a series of melancholy tales in which I found myself captivated by the complex characters and intricate details of the story. I found myself pondering the characters long after I had put the book down and yearning for an extra chapter just so I can find out a little bit more...

Two stories to look out for in particular are Marmara (which actually made me shout out loud in despair!) and the Post leading Man which has an interesting twist. I am conscious of spoiling the stories so I am deliberately being vague but this is a book that demands your full attention. Make the time to sit and immerse yourself in this collection to get the full benefit of the beauty of these tales.

The story plots aren’t overly dramatic and draw you in ever so subtly that you don’t even know you have been hooked until you reach the end.

Overall, a very good collection of addictive cleverly written stories which I was unable to put down, the plots are interesting and the characters are likable and for this very reason Ashley Stokes and hisSyllabus of Errors owe me one night of lost sleep!

The Syllabus of Errors is available from Amazon Bookstore and Kindle.

Review of the Kissing Swan Vibrator

The kissing Swan vibrator is a relatively new arrival that promises to blow the traditional rabbit vibrator out of the water... literally! Although it is marketed as a ‘Rabbit Vibrator’ with the innovative ‘kissing technology’ the Swan smothers the clitoris in powerful fluttery kisses and produces strong powerful orgasms. But will it live up to the hype?

The Kissing San arrived in an extravagant white box with a magnetic strip for storage purposes and a black pouch for easy carriage during travel, or for less bulky storage. Once opened, I was immediately struck by how pretty and colourful it was. I am a huge fan of pink vibrators, in fact the brighter the better and I LOVE the neon pink colour.

As the Swan is made from body safe silicone is it 100% Phthalate-free and completely safe to use.  It can be cleaned using conventional soap and water or your usual sex toy cleaner. I used the Toy Joy Sparkle Sex Toy Cleaner and found that it was very easy to clean and afterwards I simply left it out to dry naturally. As silicone products lack the sticky residue that can be found on Jelly Toys they are so much easier to clean after use and the Kissing Swan was no exception.

The Swan is 100% waterproof and can be used in both the bath and shower, it is incredible once submerged in the bath as it causes an extra ripple in the water which added extra stimulation and further enhanced the experience that I had with this product. I also submerged it in a bowl of water for my photographs to illustrate the 100% waterproof feature and it continues to work perfectly every time.

I did have a slight issue with the noise of the Swan. The G-Spot stimulation aspect of the Kissing Swan has a rather loud whirring noise when it is in use and the Clitoral stimulator is also quite noisy when used on full power. It can be heard when used under the duvet but once the door is closed the sounds cannot be heard through it. That was one flaw that I found with the product but it is not necessarily a huge problem depending on your household circumstances.

I love the fact that the Kissing Swan is rechargeable and once opened you simply put the pin into the bottom of the vibrator and it only takes three hours to charge. This was brilliant as you often have to wait much longer for other rechargeable vibrators and I am not the most patient of people at the best of times! I was very pleased to see that the charger arrived with four different charger adapters so you can recharge your Kissing Swan all over the world. A very nice touch indeed! It can also be locked by pressing the two buttons together to prevent mishaps.

Now, time to get down to the nitty gritty...

The G-Spot stimulator part of the Kissing Swan has a slight curve at the tip which is designed to rest nicely against the female G-Spot. As you travel further down the shaft it increases in girth for added stimulation. The estimated girth at the thickest part of the shaft is 5.5 inches.  This was thick enough to give the required amount of girth for vaginal stimulation and so far the G Spot stimulator has hit my G spot every single time I have used it.

The G-Spot stimulator can be used alone and moves in a small circular movement for perfect G-Spot stimulation. To use the G-Spot stimulator you simply press the top button and keep your finger on the button to increase the speed and power if you need to decrease the speed and power you have to switch the vibrator off and start again. I found this a little disappointing because it can hinder the experience if you are fumbling around with settings mid use.  To switch off the Kissing Swan you simply press the power button again and it will switch straight off, this is always handy to know when you have young children like I do.

The Kissing clitoral stimulator is powered by ‘Powerbullet technology’ and it is amazingly strong! I love the appearance of the kissing lips and after becoming slightly bored with the bog standard rabbit vibrator I am definitely on the market for a new experience.

To replace the traditional rabbit ears the Swan has puckered lips so they form a kissing shape. The lips sit on a flexible arm which thickens at the end to give it more stability and strength. I particularly enjoyed the flexibility of the arm because it allowed me to manoeuvre the Swan into a position so the lips were resting in the prime position on my clitoris. I did find that I preferred this product when it was used with a water based lubricant so I would recommend investing in one.

From the position that the Swan was used it was easy to increase the pressure to the correct setting because you simply keep your finger on the button. The puckered lips of the Swan are incredibly powerful and provided a strong and intense orgasm in seconds! I am more partial to clitoral stimulation than G Spot so the kissing lips are perfect for me! I find that rabbits can be rather ‘hit and miss’ when it comes to clitoral stimulation but the kissing lips of the Swan hit the spot every single time.

Overall, the Kissing Swan is an incredibly powerful vibrator and teamed with the curved G Spot stimulation shaft it delivered a powerful orgasm in seconds! I love the look and feel of the vibrator and adore the kissing lip functions. I found the settings a little basic and would have loved to see a variation in the vibrations like pulsing and teasing and an easier way to reduce the strength of the vibrations but overall this is great product and one that I will be using time and time again!

The Kissing Swan vibrator is available from the SimplyPleasures website or from my own website www.voluptasse.co.uk and retails from £119 - £129.00.
