Is it a Music Player? Is it a Phone? No, it’s a cleverly
disguised clitoral vibrator from the fast moving, forward thinking
IGinoCompany!
As soon as I clapped eyes on the iGinoOne I was intrigued. It comes in a lovely
little storage box which is similar to the box that you get with an Iphone 4 or
5. The box contains a power lead, a lovely little black pouch, a two pin American
adapter and a two pin European adapter that slots nicely into the back of the
American Plug for worldwide usage, and some very peculiar foam pieces. I looked
for some kind of explanation as to what the strange pieces were but paper
instructions left me blank.
Undeterred, I decided to do some further investigation!
A few minutes on the iGino website (
www.i-gino,com) and I discovered that these
foam attachments were EVA Foam attachments that were made to soften the
vibration of the nub for the more sensitive user. Very clever and pretty at the
same time but I do worry about durability of the foam pieces and the cost of
replacing them? Can they be replaced?
I was a little disappointed to see that the iGino wasn’t
waterproof, especially as it had so many forward thinking features like the USB
charging function and the unique design but it is splash proof so some light
waterplay shouldn’t cause too much damage. I decided to test this later…
The unit measures approximately 4 inches in length and is
two inches wide. The lid of the unit comes of easily by pulling it and it is
simply replaced afterwards to keep your toy safe and clean.I like this feature
as I am quite anal (ahem) about keeping my toys clean a free from germs.
The
iGino website recommends cleaning the product with Sex
Toy cleaning wipes and not submerging the product in water it so I gave it a
good but tentative wipe down before use. They advise against using an alcohol
based sex toy cleaner on this product too as it may cause damage.
The foam flower can only be cleaned using soap and water
only which I found a little irritating as I like to just use one product to
clean everything. Again I don’t see this information in the instructions, only
on the iGino website. Important
information like this should be clearly marked in the instructions,
particularly if a customer has spent a lot of money on this product. Also,
using soap and water to clean foam attachment will surely cause it deteriorate
quite quickly so this doesn’t seem like an ideal solution for longevity of the
product.
The Unit arrived with some charge but it is recommended that
you charge for a good 8 hours before using it. It fits perfectly onto the USB
port on my laptop and is so discreet that nobody even noticed that it was a
vibrator. No questions were asked at all which I found pleasing and quite
reassuring when I have a house filled with inquisitive children. They have a
knack of hunting down things that they shouldn't and it doesn't matter how well
hidden they are!
The iGino is compatible with water based, silicone based and
natural oil lubricants and usage of any other products with this toy may cause
damage to the product. This information is contained within the instructions
and also on the website.
The nub on the iGino is designed to move from side to side to
replicate the fingers of a woman when she is masturbating. I have never seen a
product use this method before and I like that the iGino is offering something
different than other clitoral stimulation toys, particularly as they can get
rather dull after a while. When using the
iGino I found quite tricky to
manoeuvre the unit into the correct position where the nub could reach my
clitoris comfortably. I also made the mistake of using a lubricant the first
time which may it far too slippery and impossible to keep hold of which was
slightly off putting.
Once I was up and running I found that the nub was very
powerful and only the lightest touch was required. The flower attachment does
dull the strong vibration slightly but it is still an incredibly powerful vibrator
which can at times border on uncomfortable, especially as I couldn’t use my
beloved lubes.
I found that the noise of the product was a little too loud
for my liking but it wasn’t loud enough to be heard through the bedroom door so
it isn’t a major catastrophe. I even tried it out in the shower, being the
rebel that I am, and it worked perfectly fine although I was careful not to get
it too wet. It does become very slippery in water too so I wouldn’t recommend
it if you are worried about the product breaking but it did withstand a little
water with no issues.
Overall, the iGino was a decent product but it didn’t blow
me away. For a product that retails at 99 Euro’s I would expect a wider variety
of settings. I like to be teased with different settings and the one standard
setting is a little too strong for me. It felt like a clitoral Jack Hammer. The
instructions need to be much clearer regarding the care of the product and an
explanation of the foam attachments would be beneficial to the consumer. I
would like to see a longer nub for easier manoeuvre, grips to stop it from
slipping and for it to be used safely in water. I also feel that the iGino
attachments need to be more durable and replacements should be readily
available on the website.
However, I loved the discreet design and the fact this is
rechargeable and therefore a cost effective product. It is very discreet and
wouldn't cause any raised eyebrows if discovered as it looks just like a music
player or a phone. The Charging unit lights up when the product is charging so
you know that it is plugged in properly which is helpful and it switches on
very easily using a manual switch on the side. There is also a longer wire
included so you can also charge it out of sight if you’d prefer. The results
when you can get the iGino in the right position are a powerful orgasm but my
clitoris felt quite tender afterwards despite only using a light touch.
It’s a toy that can be used alone or with a couple so it still
has lots of potential for foreplay usage. Admittedly, I still have lots to
discover about offerings of the iGinoOne and I am looking forward to getting
more acquainted! For a first design it really is an interesting product and I
look forward to seeing what iGino will come up with in the future. They are
clearly a company with an eye for something different and their informative
website is illustrative of their desire to maintain high standard of customer
service.
